Not much happens. I liked the relationship between Yana and Marda, as well as Marda and Kor.

I'm almost certain the author read Dance of Thieves before writing this. It's significantly better on a technical level. Dialogue is better, descriptions are improved, the action is better, and despite essentially being mostly filler, it moves a lot better than Powerless. The big problem is the relationship between Kai and Pae. Despite their constant declarations of love while quoting Shakespeare and clutching a human skull, they feel more like two teenagers in the early stages of puppy love than soul mates bound by destiny.
This series is like Dark Souls 2 or a big slice of chocolate mousse cake. It's bad, and I acknowledge it's bad, but I enjoyed it regardless.
But oh man, that last line. I think I might've been willing to give a begrudging B- if not for that line.

Will give you multiple cavities, and not just because of Lennon and Luna.
