If "A man and his cat" has a million fans, then I am one of them. If "A man and his cat" has ten fans, then I am one of them. If"A man and his cat"has only one fan then that is me. If "A man and his cat" has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against "A man and his cat", then I am against the world.

Such a beautiful writing, such an intriguing and amazing character I absolutely adored the way Mata Hari's vision was imagined.

Most thrilling book I read in a very long time. I'd compare it to pretty little liars (the series) for the overall vibe with the coolest plot twist of an ending. The characters were lovable and grew so much as the pages went by and I missed them quite a lot once I had to close the book. If you're on a reading slump, want something dynamic and mysterious to read or just love high school murder drama kind of books don't walk RUN!!!!

Cliché romance with cliché tropes but it was cute and done well. Her writing is good and the story funny, it makes an amazing beach reading.

Amazing, the author fully grasped on the paradox middle eastern and muslim women living in an occidentalised world experience, navigating between love, hate and questionnement about their faiths, origins and God. I especially appreciated the poetry in her words, beauty the descriptions and amazing ending, there couldn't have been a more fitting curtain fell to this masterpiece.

<The little details that bothered me where some "inconsistencies" like how Peri did not step up for Azur, Troy's  obsessional hate for him, the fact that Adnan (the husband), supposedly the one who brought Peri back to Istanbul did not make a single appearance in the flashbacks, like if she didn't even know him. The killing scene in the villa also just felt pretty odd to me. I would still highly recommend this book tho>
