The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston

This book was not what I thought it would be. I really enjoyed it - I am a sucker for time travel(ish) books. I did not like the ending which is why I gave it 4 stars. The main characters ending up together was fine but the whole cab business and him being her aunts “friends” son? My eyes could not roll harder. Other than that this was a cute book. I will be recommending to friends.
Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver

Amongst my book reading friends, this was one book that continually came up as a “must read”. I grew up in the exact area that this book is set in. I don’t know if seeing these stories play out in real life affected my feelings, but this book was just ok bordering on bad for me. I honestly sped through the last half just to get it over with. I wonder if it wasn’t so hyped by reviews and my friends if I would have liked it more ? In the end it left me feeling pretty depressed. I gave it three stars but really felt more like 2.5. I will not be recommending to friend.
All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham

I loved this book!! It’s slow paced but I think really works well for the premise. There were so many plausible endings that I really never guessed the ending. The end was super satisfying. At one point I towards the end of the book I literally screamed out TWO YEARS????? lol. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Loved this book. It was a super quick read and I didn’t want to put it down.

You can’t go wrong with a beachy read and this did not disappoint.
The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand

Of all the Elin Hilderbrand books I’ve read, this one is one of my least favorites. I felt like there were too many characters and side stories. It was hard to get invested in the characters because , at least for me, there was a big lack of character development.
With that said, I’ll still recommend as a great beach read to anyone who asks!

The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston

Gosh I loved the first 90% of this book. I laughed, I cried. The entire book I kept crossing my fingers that Ben didn’t somehow come back to life. Just once I’d love a book that didn’t end so cheesy. Everything doesn’t always have to get wrapped in a bow.
With that said, I gave it 4 stars because I really did love most of the book.

The Chain by Adrian McKinty

I have never read a book that started out with so much promise that missed the mark so far by the end.
The first 1/2 of this book is so great! Could not put it down and was on the edge of my seat. Why oh why didn’t we end when she gets her daughter back? It felt like they wanted to wrap it up with a nice bow. I actually think ending it knowing nothing about the group that ran the chain and knowing it was out there would be way better than we got.

Mrs. Nash's Ashes by Sarah Adler

This one was not for me. I found that I didn’t like either character and it was just all very superficial typical romance. Rosie and Elsie’s story saved it from a lower raring - I did enjoy the little bit of their story that we got.
Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan

It is not completely this authors fault that I found this book meh. I am over the “I’m engaged but the boy who broke my heart is back and BONUS he’s famous” trope. It felt a little Hallmark movie-ish.
