You can’t go wrong with a beachy read and this did not disappoint.

Of all the Elin Hilderbrand books I’ve read, this one is one of my least favorites. I felt like there were too many characters and side stories. It was hard to get invested in the characters because , at least for me, there was a big lack of character development.

With that said, I’ll still recommend as a great beach read to anyone who asks!

Gosh I loved the first 90% of this book. I laughed, I cried. The entire book I kept crossing my fingers that Ben didn’t somehow come back to life. Just once I’d love a book that didn’t end so cheesy. Everything doesn’t always have to get wrapped in a bow.

With that said, I gave it 4 stars because I really did love most of the book.

I have never read a book that started out with so much promise that missed the mark so far by the end.

The first 1/2 of this book is so great! Could not put it down and was on the edge of my seat. Why oh why didn’t we end when she gets her daughter back? It felt like they wanted to wrap it up with a nice bow. I actually think ending it knowing nothing about the group that ran the chain and knowing it was out there would be way better than we got.

This one was not for me. I found that I didn’t like either character and it was just all very superficial typical romance. Rosie and Elsie’s story saved it from a lower raring - I did enjoy the little bit of their story that we got.

It is not completely this authors fault that I found this book meh. I am over the “I’m engaged but the boy who broke my heart is back and BONUS he’s famous” trope. It felt a little Hallmark movie-ish.

I think I must be one of the only people who thought this book was just ok. I chose it because of how many people said it was sad and moving but also funny. For me, it was a depressing book. I did not think it was funny - it was just page after page of wondering how this person got to where they are. I thought it was pretty obvious what had happened to her and her family within a few pages of the book. In my opinion this is one you can skip.

This got so many good reviews and I’m so disappointed. For me, it just wasn’t it. I felt there were so many characters and twists and turns that it was just too much. I wasn’t invested in a single character and zoomed through it just so I could be done with it. The end just had me eye rolling it was so unbelievable. I won’t be recommending this one.

I rarely give a book one star. The story of this one is fine. Typical beachy read. I’m giving it one star because towards the end of the book there is a scene where one twin sister tries to trick the other twins love interest into sleeping with her by pretending to be the twin. While they don’t actually have sex, they do engage in sexual contact. This is pretty much glanced over, never recognized as inappropriate , and no mention that this is absolutely sexual assault. I can’t in good conscience recommend a book that portrays sexual assault in this manner.
