Stranger Things: Suspicious Minds: The First Official Stranger Things Novel by Gwenda Bond
4.0
As a someone who loves Stranger Things I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I am docking it one star only because some of the details didnt not mesh with the current ST season, but that is more than likely because it was written in 2019.
It was great getting a glimpse of where it all started either way ❤

This was a reread from my late teens. Even though it's YA I truly enjoyed reading this again in my early 30's and am going to re read the rest of the series!
The only complaint I have is the bashing of a religious group. Although fictional and I didn't agree with the practices mentioned in the book, the group is suppose to be an extreme Christian group that the author bashed as often as possible throughout the book when the opportunity presented itself.

I read this as part of a November challenge.
This is the very first time I've ever read this particular book and I had to remind myself continuously about the time period this was written in and what the norm was as there was a particular word used throughout that I didn't care for, but was otherwise a decent read. It did have quite a bit of symbolism about the American dream and what reality was for a lot of people during that time (and even during current times if I'm being honest).

I read this book as a preview for one of my kiddos and I have to say it was quite an enjoyable read even for an adult. It could really relate to current times and what could possibly be our future if things do not change.

This is a re read for me, but it was my pick for a January reading Challenge.
I try to read at least one or two books (fiction and/or non fiction) a year about historical events as I feel like knowing about our worlds history helps us to, hopefully, not repeat past mistakes.

I listened to this as a audiobook.
The narrator did a great job portraying a 13 yr old girl within a polygamist compound. I feel as thought it would be rated more as a short story rather than a book as it wasn't very long and parts were a bit rushed.
Overall I did enjoy the story line and feel like the author did research about the polygamist practices of these particular groups.
