How Far the Light Reaches: A Life in Ten Sea Creatures by Sabrina Imbler

Did not finish book. Stopped at 61%.
Not for me - I loved the early essays, but the metaphors got old for me very quickly. Might finish this one up when I don't have so much on my TBR.

3.75 - the whale thing is great, gory, claustrophobic fun, but read this for the father and son story at its heart. even when this book is at its most ridiculous, the tenderness and emotion here keep the reader grounded.

Absolutely loved Our Wives Under the Sea, but this wasn't for me, oddly enough. I'm just poorly suited to short story collections, I guess. I was going to DNF until 'Smack' and 'Salt Slow.' We love horrid gelatinous sea creature horror in this household.
