This book started super funny, it had me laughing out loud. The banter was hilarious and the adventure was fun. I wish the romance was built different. I didn't immediately clicked with the romance, maybe I was not in the mood for the spicy scenes this time, but other than that it was an entertaining read. I will probably read the rest in the series too. I did however enjoyed the writing.

🪓 𝓐 𝓕𝓪𝓽𝓮 𝓘𝓷𝓴𝓮𝓭 𝓘𝓷 𝓑𝓵𝓸𝓸𝓭 ~ 𝓡𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀 🪓

🛡 I've finished this book this past weekend, and it was great to read something by Danielle Jensen again. The story intertwined very well with the Norse mythology and the mix of magic. The characters were well built, with their infuriating flaws and charismatic personalities, and I'm talking about Bjorn here because I have no complaints about him. Even though Freya aggravated me a bunch of times, I can see why she was written that way. As the story unravels, you find out that it is not just the circumstances of her choices that fuel her rage. And Snorri was my eye rolling character....I swear this dude did not shut up about the prophecy and kept twisting every word and event to his favor 🙄 😒. He was not a good leader to his people, and Bjorn could see through that. This were I wish Freya was more assertive and learned how to listen better instead of judging and jumping to conclusions too fast.

🔥 Nonetheless, I enjoyed it. To me, it was a page turner because there was always something happening, and the ending left us discovering a new development in the story. I'm eager to read the next book in the series.

I read the first version of "Witchfished" and it was super cute and super cozy. I really liked the additional touches that were done to this novella.
The story is packed with action and charismatic characters and it reads super easy. I also enjoyed  the shorter chapters.

If you want a quick, funny and sprinkled with 🌶 story, then pick this one up.

𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅𝒏'𝒕 𝑯𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒆 felt more like "You Shouldn't Have Read This" 😅.

I personally did not really enjoy this book. I contemplated not finishing it but I wanted to see where the story was going. First few chapters were alright, but I was waiting on the plot to thicken, and I was disappointed. The more I got into the book, the more I started to roll my eyes....and it happened a lot.

First it was the way the story was written, I didn't find pleasure in it. There were sentences that made no sense, for example the FMC scratched at a scar on her knee that she didn't remember where she got it from. Then the next sentence was something like "Sometimes we don't remember how scars become". And there were a lot of sentences like that just thrown in there that had me 🙄, "sometimes this" and "sometimes that" that was just too repetitive. "Sometimes the sky is blue, it'd be like that, but who knows the mysterious ways about it?"(I made that up because that's how I felt like reading some parts of this book....🙄).

Secondly, the characters fell flat. Calvin was on a whole another delulu level, and Grace's personality wasn't very enjoyable either.  The dialogues between the main and side characters lacked some essence and I failed to see where the story was going for the entirety of the book. The only action/reveal is in the last 10 pages or so, and  I did not like the ending at all. Everything was too monotone for me, I didn't feel any emotion reading this book.
Maybe in the future I'll try another book of hers, but this one did not work out for me. 😔
