Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a free copy.

This book had the ingredients I love in a novel: enemies to lovers, beautiful family dynamics… It was all handled with care and intelligence, but I only started caring about the plot when I was close to the end of the book. I didn’t find Florence as likeable as I’d hoped for, same for Samson and the Mackenzie family. Still, there were certain scenes that were very cute and made me want to keep going.

Even though it wasn’t my favourite, I would recommend it to those who enjoy light and fun reads with a bit of magic ✨.

I saw the movie a long time ago and loved it, so when I saw the mangas at my local bookstore I had to boy them.
I like how it dives deep into the beginning of the story, how Ishida made fun of Nishimiya, how that affected her, etcetera.
It is quite sad to read how Nishimiya gets bullied, specially when she still shows compassion for those who make fun of her, but I think it makes the story even more emotional and touching.

Yes! Yes! Yes! This book is a must if you like enemies to lovers and fake dating. Reading it as a spaniard is a whole different and much more enjoyable experience, I loved the quotes in Spanish and how Lina’s family was portrayed.
