Rai and Kyle.

I was super excited to get to Rai after her appearances in the Thorns duet. Same with Kyle after his appearance in the Kingdom duet. My heart raced a few times while reading, both in anticipation and shock. They were explosive together and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

As always, a beautiful end. Rai and Kyle are perfect for each other. Watching them both struggle and fight against themselves was both heartbreaking and beautiful. I don’t know how Rina Kent does it.

The twists!!!

Why is Rina Kent so good at twists. This is like the fourth time I’ve been completely blindsided.
I want to give this five stars, but I’m still waiting for something. Don’t know what yet, but so have a feeling it’ll happen.
I gobbled this up and can’t wait to read the next one.

Heartbreaking

I loved where this book went. Seeing who they were before each other and with each other. I wasn’t expecting their beginning to be so heartbreaking. Can’t wait to read the conclusion.

Consume me

I can see why so many people love Adrian and Lia. Once they got through their issues, it was like two perfect puzzle pieces coming together. Heartbreak, a little laughter, a lot of anger, warmth, cold, and the adorable Jeremy made a complex yet beautiful love that I enjoyed seeing come together.
Their story was the one that made me want to read Rina Kent. I’d heard so much about it, and it lived up to the hype for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the back and forth, the complex emotions, and the love between two broken people.

My love for Brandon, Remi, Niko, and Mia knows no bounds

I will start off saying that I did not like the beginning. It was extremely dark, which I expected. But I wasn’t a fan of what happened. It took me a while after that to warm up to Killian, but I eventually did. (And no matter what anyone says, or whether they want to admit it, there are people like Glyndon who do actually like stuff like that. People who don’t admit it at first or at all. There’s no set rules for the way people react to certain things. I’m not saying this to excuse what he did, because it was wrong. But kinks do exist, and there is a large, mostly unexplored by the majority of people, spectrum out there.)
Now back to the review.
Because of what happens at the beginning—please make sure you prepare yourself—this was a three star read for me. I bumped up to four stars because I absolutely loved Brandon, Remington, Nikolai, and Mia. I wanted to hug Brandon and give him everything good in the world. Remi, Niko, and Mia were hilarious. I loved every scene they were in, and they made the story more enjoyable… lighter.
Glyn was a fine character. I’ve seen some people say she was boring, but she reminded me a bit of myself. I felt her struggles and related to them. So, I thought she was very human. Watching her struggle with what she wanted felt very real, at least to me.
Killian, I thought, was intriguing. He was overbearing, cruel, and definitely a villain. But that’s what I expected, especially considering who his father is. There were scenes that humanized him, and those are what made me warm up to him. By the end, I was rooting for him.
This was a dark book about a villain getting the girl. There are scenes that will be hard for some people to get through, but I enjoyed it. Seeing the darkest parts of the human mind is something that’s always been intriguing to me.
This book—this author—isn’t for everyone. Not everyone likes the same thing, and that’s fine.

An almost instant 5 star for me

I loved God of Pain. Creighton and Annika were just amazing. By about twenty percent in, I had already given it five stars.
Creigh was such a beautiful yet heartbreaking character. He’d captured my attention during the previous book, so I was super excited to get to his story. And it did not disappoint me. He was possessive and controlling, but it was obvious to see how much Annika affected him.
Annika was definitely a bright ray of sunshine. I loved that despite the environment she grew up in, her soul was pure and she tried to see the best in everyone.
They were amazing together. Light and darkness. I loved their love.
And I was happy to see I still loved Brandon, with his pure soul; Remi with his hilarious antics; and Niko with his psychotic tendencies. (Wish I could’ve seen Mia too, but that’s okay.)
Can’t wait to read the next one.

Hmm

Not sure how I felt about this one. It was missing something for me, but so don’t know what. It was enjoyable for the most part, but it didn’t have that spark like God Of Pain did. It was still nice getting a deeper look into Jeremy.
I will say I absolutely love the chat portions of this series. They always make me laugh.

Landon is hilarious

I came into this book expected to continue to hate Landon. I hated him in the other three books. Every appearance made me want to smack him in the face. I was expecting to come out of this tolerating him.
But that’s not what happened.
Landon King took my heart and claimed it. He snatched it away from Creighton with no remorse. I loved getting to really see him, and he was far more complex than I thought he would be. He is a narcissist through and through, but you can’t help but agree with some of the things he says about himself. Cause they’re true. And he’s absolutely hilarious. I had seen a little bit of his humor in the previous books, but this book was another level. I fully believe he redeemed himself from the previous encounters we had with him.
Of course I continued to love Mia. I loved her from her first appearance. Learning about her past broke my heart. I loved her loyalty to her family and friends, and how she wouldn’t allow Landon to hurt them. She was a strong character that grew even stronger, in my opinion. She gave even more than she got.
Watching them fall for each other was a beautiful experience. I was giddy throughout the majority of this book. Me being giddy is rare when it comes to books. (Though it has been happening more recently as I’ve found some really good books.)
I did not want this book to end, and I actually cried when it was over. Rina Kent has cemented herself as a favorite for me, especially with her epic twists that almost always catch me off guard.
I can’t wait for God of Fury.
