I don’t entirely know what to honk of this book, but I know I’d definitely want to read it again. It was strange, the way the narrator spoke and thought, how some things like sex related to her eating disorder and how graphically described the two things were together. It was pretty weird the main characters thoughts, but the relationships in the book were beautiful. I found myself relating to Rachel when she talked about her mother and her eating habits, not as severely but it felt comforting. I also loved loved loved the diversity, and although it was main points of the book, it wasn’t done in a hurtful, stereotypical way. I liked it.

Even better than the first book! I absolutely loved this book and I’m really hoping there’s a third one. I feel like it ended on a really good note but I’m gonna miss not reading about the crows if there isn’t another book. I love how this book dived more into the characters thoughts and their relationships with eachother, it made me feel even closer to them and felt like I was watching these events right in front of me.

I really loved this book. I picked it up on a whim, it had been sitting on my bookshelf untouched so I just decided to start it. I went into it blind and I’m really glad I did because I feel like if I had watched a TikTok video or looked more into it there would be a chance I wouldn’t have picked it up. Mainly because I don’t read much y/a where the protagonist/narrator is so young (15) talking about her loves. But it was really good and sweet. It made me think back to my fifteen year old self and the writing style was great, it made me slip into the main characters mind so easily, relating to her thoughts and insecurities and worries like all 15 year olds. It was wholesome and cute, and also very interesting how she recounted her crushes and loves like she was an old woman, interesting and possibly not super accurate or relatable to most, being in love with the same person from 10 years old. But I still loved the book and I’ll probably honestly pick up the second.

Wow what an amazing book! Really one of my favorite books I’ve read about eating disorders. I loved the character development not just from the main character but also nearly everyone else around her. I’ve never been to eating disorder inpatient recovery but from what I’ve seen and heard, the books descriptions seem pretty accurate. There were some parts that I knew for a fact was inaccurate. For example the protagonist was talking about her biggest binges saying it was day of eating 1000 calories. Many people with anorexia so count that as a binge but a big normal binge for an anorexic is thousands upon thousands of calories. And it’s not talked about a lot, these massive binges followed by regret and heavy restriction, so not adding it to the book and instead fueling the idea that anorexics never ever eat over a certain amount of calories is false and misleading. But other than that and maybe one or two other things I’d say this was extremely accurate. I loved the back and forth between the protagonists then and now; before and during anorexia. I will say that the authors writing style was kind of hard to follow in the beginning. I originally wasn’t going to say anything because different people have different styles but I did get frequently confused to the point where it was hard to enjoy the book. For example, there are no quotations for speaking, only italics which wouldn’t be a problem except flashbacks and thoughts are also in italics, making it hard to determine if what you’re reading is a thought or something someone said or some ty I guess that happened years ago in the story. I had to go back a few paragraphs frequently to find out what was happening. Eventually though I got the hang of how the writing style worked and was fine, but wow the beginning was tough to read!

Not my favorite Colleen Hoover book but it was still decent. It was a fun read at first but as you think a little more the more you realize it wasn’t as great as you think. I just feel like the character traits and growth was inconsistent and that really messed with the plot. For example, (no spoilers don’t worry) Miles, one of the main characters used grief and panic as an excuse for many many things that shouldn’t have an excuse. Grief is very prominent in this book but other characters simply forgave and moved on. It was never addressed as how badly certain actions hurt others or how people and actions/things needed to change. And this book would have been liked more if that had changed. Other than that I like the two main characters relationship towards the end. But in the beginning again, their relationship felt uncomfortable. Like somehow manipulation or gaslighting was involved, even though it was never directly stated or somewhat brought up. Maybe it was just me that felt uncomfortable by parts of their relationship, but I didn’t like many parts of it which made my liking for the book go down. It wasn’t a horrible book, just don’t one of my favorites.

I really liked this book. I don’t read as much y/a as I do other genres so it was a nice mix. A huge part of why I rated this book 4 stars was the fact that I’ve seen it on booktok. It has been so hyped up and so talked about, I went into this expecting perfection when it isn’t. It’s a great book, really but it’s not perfect like all books aren’t. But because I was expecting it and wasn’t met with it I was kind of underwhelmed. I realized that people meant this whole series is amazing and seemingly perfect rather than the first book, but I wish I went into it blind. That being said it was still a great book. I am planning on reading the rest of the books and hope to see some character growth from the protagonist and hopefully Warner as well. It was very fast paced and a lot happened in a small amount of time which I like about series. Definitely a fast read, and very easy too.

I loved the first book, this one even more. I didn’t know my opinion on a character or multiple characters for that matter can change so quickly and so much. I can’t say much without spoiling, but this book was everything good about the first book multiplied. The romance, the adventure, the memorable moments, the characters, it was all so amazing. It’s been about two weeks since finishing and I find myself watching videos and staring at that book wanting to immediately read it again it was so good. Definitely the best book in the acotar series.

Ugh this book! Some say it is hard to get started, that the beginning is slow, for me it wasn’t at all but I can see how it would be to some. The beginning few chapters aren’t the same vibe and feel as the other chapters so people can get easily turned away from the book but push on! It’s an amazing book. I haven’t cried at the ending 2/3 of a book in quite a while. The writing was phenomenal, I keep thinking and thinking about it. Addie LaRue is a book I’ll think of forever and I can see myself reading many many times again.

It was a good book, I liked it. I read it online in one sitting, it didn’t take long to read at all. Because of that I do wish it was longer. I feel like if it was, I would have been able to rate it higher. But I feel like the book lacked something. Despite this being a paranormal book, it wasn’t scary, and wasn’t as action packed as I had hoped. I wish also that there was more character development, and that we as readers got to see more into the characters minds. But instead it seemed like the readers just saw what the protagonist saw, and sometimes it seemed like reading in 3rd person instead of 1st. Anyways besides that, I did like it. It was a good filler book with a good plot.

I really loved this book! It was amazing and I cannot wait to read more from Emma Cline. I love how the book was written; in a nostalgic way from the protagonists pov. It was really easy to be put into her shoes. I was amazed actually how I felt like I was in the main characters mind, which was kind of foggy yet also knew that what was happening in that moment wasn’t what the mc thought was happening. It’s hard to explain but it was like I got two povs and two “truths” while reading the book one time with one pov. At first I didn’t like how the good parts seemed romanticized and the bad parts seemed skimmed over, but as I read on, I realized it was purposefully made that way and I’m not sure how I feel about that. I wish the bad parts were more known and described more, even though that might change the story.
