Man, I did NOT expect that this would be (more or less) the prequel for The Silent Patient. I mean, I first read the aforementioned book and when I read THIS book, I noticed the similarities between the two. A psychotherapist protagonist, Greek Mythology, a baffling murder, and journal or notes of the real culprit or antagonist (there might be more). And when I saw Ruth's name, I was like, Oh, sheeeet of paper! This is the character from Theo's story! And when Theo was revealed, I just—screamed. Theo is one of my favorite characters. But that's not why I rated this book 4 stars. It's because of the story itself. The plot, the writing, and the mysteries encompassing the story. I loved it.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 29%.
I didn't like the female protagonist and the story was plain and boring. I initially considered dropping it after reading less than ten chapters but rethought that maybe it would become better in the upcoming chapters, but it didn't. I didn't finish it and only reached the twelfth chapter—heck, I didn't even finish that chapter. I just dropped it already. Whenever I finished a chapter, I didn't even bother wondering what would happen next, it didn't make me curious, it wasn't interesting at all. It was all cliché and expected. Maybe the story is a favorite for some, but for me, it definitely isn't.
