Did not finish book. Stopped at 26%.
Audiobook: I simply could not understand why the narrator would use an accent for the names but not while the characters were speaking. I was driving me crazy. Also the plot wasn’t as interesting, personally, as the summary made it seem.

Technically you could read this as a stand alone but honestly I felt I got so much more out of it in terms of knowing the characters because I read Secretly Yours first. Unfortunately Yours, I felt, jumped in very quickly and you had to learn who the characters and their personalities were as you went, whereas in Hallie and Julian’s book it was a slower introduction and although all necessary information was provided, having that excess information helped me connect better with the characters quicker.

This was a fun read, but I feel like the characters were lacking and there were some parts at the end of the book that felt really rushed
(like why did she have to get into a car accident??? I get she needed a revaluation moment but that felt so random)
. Also didn’t love the 3rd person omniscient POV and maybe it’s just because I felt the characters were lacking in dimension (but also not really, IDK it’s a little hard to explain). Overall though, I was laughing at loud and it felt like a feasible relationship.

I did guess who the outlaw was within the first two of his chapters, still wondering how literally no one knew who he was without the mask though. Also I literally hated the captain. Corrick’s voice actor was so good for this one too. Waiting patiently for the next audiobook to be available on Libby!
