Have you ever felt like you belong to a different world, a different place? Your soul aches and you don’t know why? You find yourself looking down alleys, peering behind doors, trying to find portals?

Then read this book.

Grief and rage, yearning and aching, legends and myths, threads and Fate, Prophecies and choosing, gods and kings, pain and suffering, blood and love.

It is so hard for me to talk about one thing because how can I talk about Raegan and her sharpness and her rage without talking about loneliness and loss and grief? How can I talk about the King and his bloodlust and his brutality without talking about exile and pain and sorrow the weight of leadership? How can I talk about magic and prices paid without talking about punishment and power and all in-between? How can I talk about choosing revenge without talking about being stripped of identity and cycles and autonomy?

I cannot praise this book enough. The world building is immaculate. The writing is gorgeous and heart wrenching. The characters are deeply real and flawed and fucked up and loveable even so. The intricate weaving of different legends and folklore is a true craft to witness. I am in awe.

Beyond the Aching Door has completely altered my brain chemistry and is now a part of my personality and I regret nothing.
