No matter what other reviews might lead you to believe, don't even thing about comparing this to Night Circus. Alice Hoffman's writing style is mesmerizing, however, I do wish that Coralie's storyline was as equally developed as Eddie's backstory. Also, be warned there are extremely long passages (entire chapters) that are written completely in italics (which I found to be visually unnecessary).
