I was honestly not expecting to like this book as much as I did but the more I read it the more I understood it. There are still aspects of this book (such as some unnecessary off-handed fatphobia) that don’t sit right with me but overall I really enjoyed this story and the way it was written. The experience of reading it was definitely a good one.

This series slapped so HARD!! I love the characters and pepperbuckle will forever and always be the bestest boy. There are 2 characters who 100% should have been gay and in love but I liked the ending so I’ll let it slide.

This book was incredible, I actually liked it more than the first. Pepperbuckle is my favorite character, I would die for him.

Whatever I was expecting this book to be, this wasn't it. I had done no research beforehand and knew nothing about the story or writing before opening it, but it ended up being one of the most beautifully written books I've ever read. The writing, while very ornate, was a little hard for my brain to stay focused on. So, I borrowed the audiobook on Libby and that was the best decision I could have made. The audiobook was very well done but the best part is that the narrator did unique voices for each character (!!!) and that made my heart so happy.

The book had some unexpected and well-done twists and the story, while kind of hard to understand at first, was pretty captivating. I technically started reading this a few days ago, but after checking out the audiobook I read the remaining ~80% in 3 days.

Ok so my overall thoughts on this series are as follows: the first one is by far the best (relative to the others in the series). The second one was kind of boring and frankly unnecessary. The third one, while also unnecessary, was fun and stupid like the first one. I’m not a huge fan of the ending but I didn’t really expect any different of an outcome. Best $6.50 I’ve ever spent on a book.
