The book has a slow start...and a slow middle, but in the end we are off to the races! It was interesting to see the office side of the Southern Reach.

I am a fan of the movie and thought maybe I would get more answers from the book..not really. If anything more questions, but it was a really interesting read and I will definitely read the rest of series.

Michael Norton shows how a subtle turning of habits into rituals can clear a space for everyday magic in our lives. Basically examples of a way to be mindful of your actions and romanticizing your life.

"Titanic meets Event Horizon in this SF horror novel in which a woman and her crew board a decades-lost luxury cruiser and find the wreckage of a nightmare that hasn't yet ended." Interesting premise and chilling setting, however, I found our main character's internal dialogue annoying.

"A virus is spreading across America, transforming the infected and making them feral with lust." I'm not sure what it is about CJ Leede's writing, but I just eat it up. This was a very unique take on a virus epidemic and showcased overcoming religious trauma.

"A furious, queer debut novel about embracing the monster within and unleashing its power against your oppressors" literally. This was a fast read, although uncomfortable at times just due to the body horror.

Not a thriller until the very end, but still a fun read. It was interesting trying to piece the storyline across different POV's and timepoints.
