levensellar is great at writing captivating romance. I wasn’t really enthralled by the plot, but the development of the main characters relationships are so well done that I had to stick around. She really does great at her pacing I’m my opinion. I really enjoyed the book!

Ok I read this when I was sick and I’m a haze so i probably need to give it another go because I barely remember a lot of it. What I do know, it took me a second to get invested, and multiple POV is always a struggle at first before you love the characters. But boy do I love these characters. Nina is so empowering to me, Jesper is fantastic and charming, wylan gives me Peter Parker vibes. Matthias is so intriguing and I really related to his development. Kaz is beyond words, he’s so cool, and intriguing. His capabilities and intelligence are just astounding. Bardugo was so impressively clever when coming up with these characters and plot twists. Best for last: Inej. I want to be her when I grow up. She is so steadfast in herself and her beliefs and I just connected to her on a really deep level. She’s so under rated. Anyways it was great.

Don’t get me wrong I had a great time reading this book. It was fun and a needed palette cleanser. I just have a few things. First, this book is a debut (? I think), and it felt like one. It reads like a fan fiction but it’s fun so whatever. The other thing is I wasn’t super impressed with Aaron. He kinda felt back and forth with how he expressed himself, then all of a sudden he was super forward and it felt out of character. The characters just all felt a bit flat, and a bit all over the place. Halfway through the book things progressed way fast and it felt like I was reading about different people. These realizations all came after reading the book though, so I still really enjoyed it! Anyways I’d recommend it for a fun read!

I love this book. I read it in the midst of finals and depression and college issues, and it breathed some life into me. I think every kid or adult should read this book. It is the most fairytale feeling book I’ve read and it made me feel so light and nostalgic. Char and Ella are wonderful and their journey is so sweet.

I really loved this book. I needed something simple and refreshing and this book gave me the exact right amount of emotion wrapped in wholesomeness that has lifted me out of such a reading slump. I loved Henry’s writing style and I was continuously invested in the story even though it went back and forth between past a present. Some times that style can bore readers till they find their interest
waning. Not in this case though, it was done well and proved to be a great way to keep the reader (me) interested. I love the characters, they feel very real and flawed.

Is this a good book? No not really. Do I love it? Absolutely. That might be something called the Maxon Schreave effect, idk I read this years ago before I knew what good writing meant. but these books make me feel happy… so that’s all I care about

Did not finish book. Stopped at 90%.
I don’t remember anything that has to do with this plot. Lighting? Blood? Hot brothers? Betrayal? That’s it. Characters names… I got nothing. World building… nada. It might not have been bad, but I just remember being underwhelmed and uninterested. Sorry Victoria, you seem cool and I like your tik toks but I’m probably not picking up this series again.
