when it comes to jennifer hartmann, the wrong heart is always the book i recommend when introducing someone to this author.

jennifer hartmann tends to tackle triggering subject matter in her novels and this is the one that feels the least heavy to read. i love the fmc, more specifically her storyline with her grief. i love to see her relationship with the mmc develop. jennifer hartmann is the best at writing slowburn angsty stories.

i will say that this mmc is one of her weaker love interests. i understand what she was going for but i also expected more out of him when it comes to his individual traits and story.

overall, a great way to start off my new year and i’m glad this author is getting the recognition of getting traditionally published that she deserves !!

side note, that epilogue is absolutely cruel, i pretend it doesn’t exist whenever i reread this book.
