Wow, what a book! It's a genuinely engrossing tale of love, estrangement and an outside perspective of the American race issue that's thoroughly unique.

The constant revolving door of characters can get confusing, but the ending is well worth the persistence.

A very fascinating book indeed. Rooney's writing style took a little while to get used to, but as stories go, I can't fault this.

Except maybe to say that the constant on again/off again often had me audibly frustrated

I certainly appreciate the NHS a little more after reading this.

That and as this book pretty much states throughout, fuck the tories and fuck Jeremy Hunt in particular!

If I'd have known beforehand what emotions I was signing up for by reading this book, I'd have left it alone.
