Of the three, the way my second favorite. Got to be frustratingly Christian, and still doesn't compare to Kingmaker, Kingbreaker, butthe characters are marvelous and it was worth the read.

My favorite of the three. Zandakar returns without the annoyingly self appreciative Hekat overwhelming the narrative, and the characters of Ethrea - minus Marlan of course - are complicated and simple and easy to get caught up in. Enjoyed this one immensely.

Slow. There is only so many times one should be allowed to say: I am Hekat, I am precious. But worth it to get to the second book. But Kingmaker, Kingbreaker is far superior.

Liked it. Not as complex as the original series, but interesting enough to keep me going for the next book.
