extremely entertaining, insanely funny, confusingly sweet, achingly emotional, and terribly chaotic. lark & lachlan’s story was just as fun as we all expected. a fun pivot from butcher & blackbird, it kept enough similarities while also creating its own story.

i listened to about 85% of this on audio, and it was good, but the narrators just didn’t quite hit for me. the male narrator struggled to stay consistent with the accent for lachlan, and every american accent still had a twinge of his own accent behind it. and i really didn’t like the female narrator, i’m so sorry i really tried, but it just wasn’t working for me. but somehow, i don’t feel like the actual story suffered for it. just me lol ;)

the epilogue has me in a chokehold, i can’t wait to see what happens in fionn & rose’s story.

entertaining as all get out. can’t wait to read book 3. Annie & Brendon were so fun, even if I typically REALLY dislike (sorta) friends to lovers. i just wish the falling in love part didn’t happen so fast, it felt a little rushed but I’ll get over it.

i can’t stop thinking about colin & his slutty little sweater vest or truly & her inability to cook up anything but a good book. in love with these two, there’s nothing better than when the person who’s supposed to be the cynic (he’s a divorce lawyer my dudes) is actually the “falls in love at first sight and falls harder” person. and how the heck does the romance author become the person who doesn’t know if they believe in love?? iconic. the bisexual representation was *chef’s kiss* no bi erasure here folks!! i binged this so fast, it was worth the whole “stay up until almost 4am when you have to leave for work by 7:30” issue.

okay loved it. cilantro and ridiculous amounts of mutual reluctant pining. so good

but my one complaint (SPOILERS AHEAD) is that i really really really dislike when the book ends right has they fully resolve the issue. i need an epilogue or at least one chapter of domestic bliss i’m begging 😭😭
