A queer, poc book about a girl who wants to be a writer and it all goes wrong.
Safe to say that it only goes wrong due to this characters decisions and her complete lack of accountability. She is selfish and cruel but believes herself to be the victim.
An unreliable narrator. This book is easy to read and the story somewhat enjoyable. We begin to root for her but the story falls short on all accounts because Mickey does not grow.
The ending falls flat.

I felt very hopeful about this novella at the beginning and throughout. I really enjoyed it. My only reason for not loving this book is I felt the end was dragged out. The suspension built was pullled a tiny bit too long for me.
The ending? Not as dark or satisfying as I would of liked.
However, loved this plot and the style. A writer with taste. Really knows how to set a scene powerfully.

A solid 3 because it is packed with information. However I was not a fam of the writing style and it was a bit hard for me to get into. A lot more science information than anticipated - packed with historical and scientific facts.
Not my cup of tea but I think might be someone elses.
