By far my favorite in the series (so far... on to book 7!). Certainly the darkest and most adult of the series, with a more epic feel. The characters have really come into their own, and I'm excited to continue on to the conclusion of the series.

I loved this book. It was a fun read with likeable characters. James has definitely picked up Jim's sense of humor. Some plot holes and heavy handed tropes, but it was exactly the kind of read I was needing.

I very much liked this book. The romance was sweet, but complex and authentic-feeling (which I appreciate since I normally hate romance-driven books). The historical backdrop of '50's Chinatown was also interesting and informative. My only complaint is that I felt the ending was a bit abrupt and there was more that I wish had been wrapped up.

I hated most of the characters and found the entire end of the book to be contrived and clichéd. This book was not for me.

I liked this book a lot. It was a bit slow to start, but once I got to the primary plot, I had a hard time putting the book down. I rated this at a 4 though because I wish there were more transparency regarding what is fact and what is embellished or filled in by the author. I was disappointed to learn of the controversy surrounding this book.
