This was such a beautifully reflective story of a man exposing his guilt, his shame, and his love for a son he drove away.

I’ve truly never cared so little about any characters in a book. This was really, really annoying to read. If I had to read one more email about her dabbling in political thought processes with no concrete thoughts trying to use the biggest words on her thesaurus I would lose my mind. Hard pass for me.

I can’t give this book any star review that would highlight the complex feelings I have about this book. The characters are so unlike able by the end you’re wondering if you even like people in general. All of their (terribly bad) decisions are their own fault and then they cry about the fault of being poor or living in a capitalist society. Newsflash: don’t start an affair with someone??? You’re not unlovable you’re just a home wrecker girl!!! also all the characters need therapy oh my god. I’m sorry if you connect with these characters, please love yourself. Also for the love of everything no one cares the dog is barking sally rooney!!!

The writing in this book is a little scattered. I enjoyed the voice given to muslims in the story, but felt it could have been structured better

I think the book missed something for me that I can’t quite articulate.
