The audiobook for D’Vaughn and Kris plan a wedding was an absolute masterpiece to listen to. Not only is the writing very well done the narrator for the book really gives personality to every character and keeps you in the mind of the narrator of each chapter. You can really hear the different voices of the character when you are listening.

I am not necessarily an audiobook connoisseur however this is truly one of the best experiences I’ve had with an audiobook. The narration was lively it never fell flat when you were listening to it. I loved the nuances that the narrator was able to fit into both of the perspectives of the main characters.

I had the smallest bit of issue getting through the spicier scenes but I think that is far more on me than it would ever be on the book because the narration was also fantastic in those situations. I truly have no criticism for this audiobook and the original book.

This book was an interesting experience. I have very rarely in my life read a book without chapters. It takes a skilled hand to pull it off and I think that Malerman did. It takes a while to get into the group of the book but once you hit about the 30% mark the story really starts picking up.

The way I would describe The plot is what if there was a slasher that worked like the game. You know the thing that we used to play in middle school where if you remembered the game then you lost it. Daphne works in the same kind of way; she pops up when you think about her.

I’m not particularly sure I enjoyed how much of the book was taken through journal entries but I liked the switch and perspectives that we’ve got between the characters.

Overall I would give this book about 3 1/2 stars. Mostly just because the beginning dragged on so long it took me days to get to the parts that actually got to me.  The formatting makes the book makes it by definition, not for everybody but I do think that horror enjoyers will like this book.

I’m gonna be honest I just did not really vibe with this book. I didn’t particularly like either of the main characters. I thought the problems that each of the girls had with their mothers were too quickly resolved in the end.

This book also felt really constrained by the fact it was a Ya novel I think it would’ve been better if it was a new adult  book.

Rethinking Gender: An Illustrated Exploration by Louie Läuger

This book gives an interesting and informative view on gender in our current society and how we got here. It reminded me a lot of when I took a women’s studies class in college and began unpacking my own ideas of gender. I do think this will be useful for anyone who is just starting their journey on understanding themselves or understanding others.

The illustrations are lovely and I absolutely loved the art style used by the artist.
I think I would absolutely recommend this book to people that are looking for more information on the subject

This book was such an absolute delight to read. It was the perfect book for me and the month of June. The characters are lovable the plot is intriguing and it sets up perfectly for the next book. Delilah’s  story was amazing and I cannot wait to hear Astrid’s.
It definitely tapped into something in me with its use of dynamics between step family I related to both Delilah and Astrid in that sense.
