Mansfield Park by Jane Austen
Edmund and Fanny are more tolerable in the movie, but Fanny and Edmund's relationship is more tolerable in the book. Thomas the younger is much more likable in the book. The movie is more climactic. Jane Austen's opinion on wealth distribution, land ownership, and slavery are much less obvious to our modern eyes, to the point where if you blink, you might miss it. But it IS still in there, so that's something. It's not the best Austen. (That's Northanger Abbey, don't @ me)
