MID!! Just like bad monkey... it's not that I don't like yancy because I like him well enough in both there's just something else going on that sets this and bad monkey apart from a classic hiaasen that I don't enjoy... maybe it is yancy.... who can say.... too much sex and not enough ecological crises or political corruption!! a good hiaasen has equal parts of each!! like strip tease... I miss strip tease...

I finally finished this damn book. I think it was great it was just a slog. and I think a certain author likes to talk about himself too much. but it's very comprehensive and analytical and interesting and strangely mystical and I feel very knowledgeable now

look it was good but (SO SORRY. SOOO SORRY) little bit of a slog in the way that only british absurdist humor sci-fi can be

I gasped, my eyed welled up with tears, I had to stop and put the book down for a moment. excellent twists and good emotional pull. however something off about the pacing, at the middle and the end which made it a bit... less impactful? I love when angry bisexual Indian women win though, so must overall recommend

its been over a year since i read deadly education and i think if i had just read that, i would have liked this more so take this with a grain of salt. el is a complicated character to me because i find her absolutely insufferable but i also think she can't help it and she's actually perfect. orion is similar. the first half of the book was a drag but once it picked up it absolutely picked up and now i need to get to a bookstore asap. yee haw
