Wow, this was so good. A book about motherhood, grief and also touched on the exploitative nature of true-crime, how odd it is for people to consume the pain of others for entertainment and personal pleasure. I usually can guess twists but this really kept me guessing until the reveal.

(I’ve changed my review of this at least 3 times because I have a lot of thoughts lol oops) Definitely one of the most insanely well thought out books I’ve ever read, but also insanely long and complicated only for there to be very little payoff at the end. Also, I didn’t like how some of the characters were real people (esp Connie Converse) it felt in bad taste to include her, especially with the way her character was portrayed.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 34%.
This is…. Really bad. The way that she got a job as a missionary helping people escape from gangs with NO training or experience whatsoever and discussed it as a positive experience was too much to take. I appreciate her being honest with her story but I just can’t even finish this because of the way she discusses certain topics…
