Ok, not as good as the first. Didn’t feel as connected to either of the main characters in the romance. Quick read.

Surprisingly didn’t like it as much as Spinning Silver but still really good! Romance got more intense than I expected. 👀 I appreciate the creativity with the magic and magical creatures. Kasia, I love you. Audiobook narrator threw me off at first but I acclimated.

Lots of parallels to Mansfield Park, which I just read. Good fun! Regency Mean Girls, with some diversity. Some profound moments and analysis of modern day serious issues, even for a book mostly about people going to a serious of increasingly wild parties. 🤪 Quite funny at times! Would recommend.

“I cannot but think that good horsemanship has a great deal to do with the mind.“

I can understand why this one isn’t as popular. Honestly kind of depressing analysis of verbal and emotional abuse but quite profound character work! Satisfying like all Austen novels but I just cannot be a fan of a first cousin romance, sorry Jane. 🤮

Fun addition, love their friendship. Felt like Temeraire series because it was Napoleonic Wars plus fantasy elements.

I liked this better than the middle one. Similar to T. Kingfisher’s Saint of Steel series.

Self-aware and genre-aware in a funny way. Different vibe than other Austen novels.

Intrigued by the premise but didn’t like the story, writing style or audiobook narrator. Silly, facepalm-worthy horse behavior. 😤

Now TSC seems haunted to me.
