A book about the quirks of a circus will pique my interest.

It was interesting to be presented with pratical the dynamics, and of course, the bigger picture of what could happen. The way the story is told is fabulous: it's never too late, and people are crazy.

Also? AWESOMEST ELEPHANT EVER.

Disturbing, terrifying, and beautiful - and written by a woman! I always like a good savagery v. civilization theme, but I really loved this! I wish I had read Frankenstein when I was younger.

A light read, but hilarious and cute.

The interactions reminded me of some interaction at my former workplace. My heart went out to the poor child though, even though it's not a true story. Reminded me a LOT of The Devil Wears Prada. Sometimes I felt like her images got jumbled in the writing.

The prologue/introduction is spot-on.

From what I remember of the movie, it only stops like, halfway through this book. Capote does an amazing job of creating such a loveable, entrancing unreliable character!

This story was so sad, and it's unfortunate that this happened often during this era.

I didn't like many of the main characters (besides the son and Caroline and Al) but I don't think I was supposed to.

This is what happens when one keeps a secret from another, especially a spouse. Thank goodness there are so many regulations now and people who have fought for special needs children to have more opportunities.
