Just the fantastical romance I needed to carry on my reading challenge for January. Started off super slow and a bit rigid (just like the movies) but formed into something more understandable. Meyer may have written herself into a hole though and made some plot holes I don’t think she thought about before publishing and the development of the forced proximity between Edward and Bella felt less like it had to happen for a logical reason relating to the plot but more a forced pairing by the author to start the story. Wish there had been more chemistry and work done at the start but overall was a great story I can’t wait to read the second one

It was so hard to read someone’s experience with their mother and it resonate so much with my own. It’s heartbreaking to read the reality of one of my favourite actors who represented a huge part of my identity as a child but it’s so relieving to know she’s recovered and constantly making herself better and removing herself from the world that stole her own childhood and life
