✨ARC REVIEW✨
thank you so much to the author and her team for allowing me to read an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review❤️❤️
firstly, this was such a great and heartwarming story. i loved the journey that the characters went through with the “list” (the smut was great too 🫣). I wish we got to see more of the list tbh. it was once at the beginning and they kept referencing it, so i had to keep going back to see what was actually on the list 😭 selah felt so personal to me and i feel like everything she did, i would’ve done (even the third act breakup). i love a good book boyfriend but greyson was a little too perfect for me. every person has their faults and it seemed like greyson had none. not to mention the constant mention of him being written by a woman.
i liked the side characters, though they blended in for me a little bit. there was one chapter that just relayed the characters and their backstories, but most of them weren’t in the story that much. i understand the author wanted to set up a series, but i felt like it could’ve been a little more subtle. just something to get me thinking “hmm wonder what’s that about, guess i’ll have the read the next one to find out).
the biggest and really only qualm was there was too much telling and not enough showing. there were many conversations that just cut out in the middle to be summarize or paraphrased and threw off the momentum a lot.
overall, i did really like this story (don’t get me wrong). i believe this is the authors first book so i’m excited to see where she takes the rest of the series and how she grows as a author. ❤️❤️❤️
