Sigh... if that ain't bad fanfiction but also very accurate to what a more dark version of the movies would be like.
If I wasn't 20 I would have loved it. 13yo me certainly would have.
Might re read later because it couldve have been really fun if the writing was not terrible.

The first chapters on Evar's pov were HORRENDOUS in their repeations of literally everything but thank god it got better. Maybe I'm dumb because I didn't get why it had to repeat the same world building thins over and over from one paragraph to the next.
Just for that it didn't deserve 5 stars but that was a really enjoyable read.
When Evar realises he's in love with Livira he proceeds to describe her as fragile. Someone with fragile features and figure. She's not what i would call fragile and i don't understand why this had to be included. And also that made me uncomfortable, i get that, that is Evar pov but i don't get why when the only girl he remembering was Clovis, so he couldn't possibly think women as weaker. However on that point, compared to Clovis she could be considered fragile on some aspects. She's not as strong or anything but by that point Evar is knows Livira by more than her looks or what he thought she looked like, and opinions on someone shape how we perceive them. PLUS, with the Exchange he should percieve her as what he expects/wants to, because I don't really believe that they got over that whole thing.
HOWEVER, this books has a tendency to explain why each character is feeling something, and Livira supposed fragility, fragile figure, is not put in opposition with Clovis' or anyone else for that matter. AND, it only starts when we have a romatic subplot (or plot ??). So again not 5 stars.
Also the whole Livira being an Assistant for possibly century and lowkey raising Evar was weird, made 100% sense and was weird, but also would have been more developed on.

I was not expecting it to be as much fun as it was tbh. It dis take me 100 pages to care even a little bit about any of the characters or the plot

Ultimately it's a book about connection, caring, consciousness and what being human means.
