The Pearl by John Steinbeck

It's a song as simple as that. Amazingly metaphorical and lyrical. Shuttles between the anger and helplessness of a poor man's despair when he comes across a source for breakthrough. Constantly manages in tossing between black and white of several aspects. Brilliant writing.

Got me crying this book. Such poignant storytelling. Fits the purpose of renaissance storytelling which basically centred around everyday characters instead of rulers and still be interesting.

Everytime I read the heighth of fashion, I felt s new rush of energy in me. Burgess used his linguistic prowess to create something beautiful. The wellwellwelling got me cracking so hard. Contrary to what the rumours day, it's A Clockwork Orange is not a difficult read at all. Once you get used to the nadsat lexicon, he book flows smoothly. I believe that's unlike any other book, where you trod slowly in the beginning and pick up more pace as you move on.
