This is an incredibly important book, especially considering the time of which it was written. Highsmith perfectly captures the realisation of homosexuality in such a fantastic way - and one of which I am sure many of us can relate to. For a book written in the mid 1900s, this is a truly special piece of work and one that is especially well written.
