Frenchman's Creek by Daphne du Maurier

Loved this book! Whilst I prefer the story of Jamaica Inn, I liked that this was a faster pace hence the extra .25 rating. Definitely recommend and I love a strong female protagonist!
Freedom's Child by Jax Miller

The only redeeming factor was when I finished the book. The plot in principle was good but the writing was terrible and just not well executed. I don’t think it tackled themes of sexual assault in an appropriate way and to me it felt distasteful at times. I’d also say the book is too long, it doesn’t really pick up until the end. Not my cup of tea and wouldn’t really recommend.
I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman

I like the book but I don’t love it - I guess it’s the point that you are left with no real answers and it’s full of mislead hope but I felt it lacked something. Great read though and I would recommend it!

The Magic Faraway Tree: The Magic Faraway Tree: Book 2 by Enid Blyton

Boys Don't Cry by Fíona Scarlett

I don’t think I’ll ever read this without crying - the most heartbreakingly beautiful book and one of my all time favourites.
By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept by Elizabeth Smart
2.5
It’s beautifully written but half the time I just didn’t have a clue what was going on - defo a me thing; just not be cup of tea
Wandering Souls by Cecile Pin

An impactful read on refugees, the afterlife and family. I enjoyed the writing style and the different perspectives, easy to read in a few hours too. I particularly loved the way it followed time and you see how societal norms and opinions changes.
Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben

I didn’t love it but didn’t hate it. Felt like the characters were undeveloped and the writing was poor at times (particularly as a female perspective/narrator all felt a bit simple). Wasn’t that shocking but I’d watched the series first
