mysterious tense

This is still such a fantastic series 20 books in. Although they can be read on their own I recommend reading them in order to understand the full depth of the characters and how the team works. Speaking of the team I love to hate the new guy, Turner. He makes me want to punch him in the face but I can’t wait to see more of him and how or even if he settles into the team. He’s definitely an interesting addition.

The hunt for the killer and a potential missing child was tense and I had no idea how it was going to end. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you hooked as well as a baffling set of clues.

I also really enjoy seeing more of Josie and Noah’s personal life and although I have no idea how they are going to fit a child into their hectic life I am really rooting for them. I look forward to seeing how their lives develop.

I adore this series. They can be read as standalones but reading them in order shows Bree’s growth. The crimes are always gripping and the characters are so damn lovable. Seeing a sick Kayla interact with Matt was too adorable. Bree and her whole family make the books and they add a lightness to the darkness of the murders. Bree’s personal life is always balanced beautifully with the crime aspect. The investigation kept me guessing and while I kinda worked out the motive I was surprised by the reveal which I always enjoy. The ending was as dramatic as ever and I wasn’t sure who was going to make it out.

I normally love Helen Fields books but this one fell a bit flat for me. I found Midnights character frustrating and some of her actions didn’t match her need to protect her sister. I was slightly baffled as to why more staff weren’t suspicious of Necto and it’s weird practices. The Police’s actions were also a bit odd. I did however love Doris and Jessica and I enjoyed Dr Connie Woolwines appearance. The villain is terrifying and his crimes are gruesome. It was an interesting concept it just fell a bit short.

This was a great introduction to Freya and her new team. I was expecting to find out more about her family/past and why she had to leave but I assume we will learn more in future books. The team worked well together and I look forward to seeing more of them. There are some great characters. The case of the drowned and missing girls was packed full of suspense and kept me guessing. I worked out the sad motive but I wasn't sure who the ring leader was. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for any future additions to this series.

This book was exactly what I needed after a bit of a reading slump. A low stakes, closed door romance. I’m a huge fan of small town cowboy romances and bonus points for this one also having horses. I really enjoyed the equestrian element. It was written beautifully and I finished it in a day. Both Madison and Jack are lovable characters and I loved seeing their friendship grow when they were determined to hate each other. The slow burn was perfect. I also really liked that both Madison and Jack grow as people individually. The ending was the dream. There are so many amazing side characters but they are written so well it’s easy to keep track of them. I look forward to hopefully seeing some of their stories in this series.

This is a fantastic series. I adore Madison and Nate and there are so many other lovable characters. They can be read on their own but I do recommend reading them all to get the background of the team and the town. As with the rest of the series, this was a wild ride with plenty of twists and turns. There are a few suspects to keep you on your toes and it was definitely what I was expecting. Definitely a disturbing reveal. It's packed full of suspense and because of the blurb, I was so stressed for everyone Madison is close to. I really enjoy the balance of Madison the cop and getting to know her personally.
