When characters are absolutely sure of themselves despite being repeatedly wrong I’m either amused or annoyed. This one annoyed me. And since she doubled down in the last chapter, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth.
Like, she’s really throwing a fit that her lover and dragon have been keeping a secret from her, despite having just found out that she’s a walking security risk since her best friend reads her mind on the regular? I can’t help feeling she’s far too emotionally young to be in a relationship, and since a lot of the book is the amazing love between her and emo-boy, me thinking the pairing is a terrible idea makes the book a slog.
