I had high hopes for it, modern Lizzie Borden retelling screamed out to me for a read. I wanted to love it, but mostly just liked it. The frenetic style played well with Lizzie mental illness but also confused me as the reader. Which I'm sure if that's what the author was going for, she succeeded. Not the worst way to spend an afternoon, but not the best either.

I'm sobbing this is so good! I've made it my mission to search out more Bi representative books and this one is so sweet and amazing! It gives me Homosapiens Agenda and Red White and Royal Blue vibes but in graphic novel form! Getting to see myself represented in positive bi characters who are figuring out what that means and who they are is just balm for my soul. It's all the things I wish I had had when I was growing up!

A really cute and fun YA Graphic Novel that follows Charlie as he deals with the stress of having a friend like Nate his neighbor/friend who's determined to get the robotics team to it's big competition. An ex girlfriend like Holly who is determined to get her cheerleaders new uniforms. And him stuck in the middle of a student body president election that goes from bad to worse quickly. Add in parents who just don't quite get it and a resolution that made me smile and I will definitely recommend this book to everyone ♥️
