A fun exploration on what it means to be the "Chosen One" and a cute romance. Fast paced and hard to put down.
Cute book. Sometimes a little bit too sweet but overall an enjoyable read. This is the kind of book I would have adored as a child and it is nice to revisit those days.
An epic finale to an epic tale. I am very pleased with the ending though I wish that this didn't have to be goodbye. Farewell to Mia and to the amazing world of nevernight. Thank you for showing me the beauty in fear.
A seriously disturbing and creepy novel. A slow build, but draws you in.
The perfect slow burn romance for readers (like me) who despise instalove. The characters have excellent chemistry and are intriguing. The world was unique and so was the magic system. My one complaint is that I would have like the magic to have been explained a little bit better.
The strength of this novel comes in the excellent portrayals of human relationships and the messy emotions that come with them. Though this book is a fantasy the characters ground the book in a reality that is deeply relatable. I empathized with both Miyoung and Jihoon struggles. I cried at their pain and cheered for thier triumphs. It was such a joy to follow these two characters' growth.
3.5 stars. I wanted to like this book so badly. It sounded right up my alley. While their were parts that I enjoyed, I felt that most of the plot was predictable and familiar and I just didn't care about the characters except for Jude and Anton. I'm not sure if I will be continuing this serie, unless I hear really good things about the sequel.
