This story was a complicated one. It was heavy and emotional. It dealt with various serious issues, ranging from life after loss to mental health. It explored a number of relationships and showed the healthy and unhealthy tendencies that impact those relationships.

In terms of the featured couple, this novel presented a dual POV. It shifted between the past and the present, allowing readers to glimpse the characters from their initial meeting until their final end and more. There were clear, precise indicators that showed what went wrong and what went right in their relationship. Along with dealing with the conflicts that arose in their relationship, the book also showed a lot of steam and spice, which will appeal very much to many readers.

This gets a mixed bag rating. I think it will appeal to many, but I also think that it may not appeal to others. There is definitely something to the underlying love story between the main characters that warrants looking further.

Quick Summary: A sweet coming of age romance

My Review:

A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime is by Monica Murphy. It was released in 2022.

About the Book: "I shouldn’t be drawn to her. She’s not my type. Until we’re forced to work together in class and realize we might have more things in common than we originally thought. Soon enough I find myself completely obsessed. I will do anything for this girl to make her fall in love with me."

In My Own Words: Two teens find a forever love when they least expected, even as outside forces work to keep them apart.

My Final Say: This won me over completely. It gets a hidden gem rating.

Other: There were some serious issues presented in this story. Readers are advised to refer to the author's notes for any trigger warnings, etc.

Quick Summary: A dark, creepy YA/T suspense/thriller

My Review: The Thrashers by Julie Soto is a 2025 nailbiter. It is scheduled for release on 5/6/25.

About the Book: "Either you're in or you're out.

Welcome to the Thrashers, the elite friend group at New Helvetia High.

They're everything everyone wants to be."

In My Own Words: After an innocent high schooler with a murky past loses her life, a dark spectre happens upon the scene, haunting a band of peers who is accused of more than seems immediately obvious. One by one, they must face the deeds that they have done.

About the Characters: What a crew!!! The Thrashers were certainly more than they appeared to be. Each group member had a story to tell. There were layers to their existence, which added to the texture of the story. I liked the depth in which the author presented them.

About the Audiobook: This novel was narrated by Eva Kaminsky and Jesse Vilinsky. They did an exemplary job with rhythm, flow, timing, expression, and tone. There was never a dull moment. It was a thrilling ride from beginning to end.

My Final Say: This novel was simply outstanding! I was on the edge of my seat the whole team. Right when I thought I had things figured out, I was hit with a tidal wave of unknowns. The underlying themes in play, such as loyalty, sacrifice, friendship, and hierarchy added to the story. The lies, deception, and false fronts influenced the movement and direction of the characters in play.

This was a massive YES from the jump!

Other: Readers who enjoy twisted thrillers in the teen/YA genre will appreciate this novel. I highly recommend that you run with a quickness into the pages of this brilliant book.

Quick Summary: A twisted dilemma thriller

My Review: Tell Me What You Did by Carter Wilson is a 2025 mystery/thriller.

About the Book: "She gets people to confess their crimes for a living. He knows she's hiding a terrible secret. It's time for the truth to come out… "

In My Own Words: Whoever said confession was good for the soul never met a MDKer in plain sight. Perhaps it takes one to catch one.

My Final Say: This was creepy and disturbing. While it proved to be somewhat predictable, it was still tense and, dare I say, entertaining.
