this was…a book. for a “introductory” science fiction novel I left with a lot more questions/thoughts/headaches than expected? like i don’t know what color eyes this guy has…dumb i know…but shit! we couldn’t even get that bit of characterization?
v campy in the best way? it’s such a screenshot of the time period for paranormal romance and i say this lovingly! as true blood girlie, i enjoyed this but can see why others didn’t // 3.5/5
truly never have read characters that were this non-compatible…how brandy (brianne??) did not get whiplash from marcus is beyond me!!!
fun debut! i think i would love this if i was younger, but a good mindless read nonetheless!
One would assume that a book about magical hunger games for assassins and criminals wouldn't be boring, but alas, nothing in life comes easy!!!
I'll read the second book...eventually...mainly because I 1) now know the character "Chaol" is not pronounced "Characol" but rather "Kay-all" (??????) and because I'm a firm believer in second chances.

like most Medeiros books this was wonderfully bananas!! compliments to the chef
it’s been a loooong time since i considered a book a romp but this was so fun!!! we gotta normalize MC’s being more kooky…miss those girls
this book is basically the 2020s equivalent of a John Green book circa 2010s and i will stand by that despite the yelling i got from my book club….BUT IM SORRY aldo (god what a name) always just hanging out with a joint in his pocket unlit to let it rest between his lips??? he’s augustus waters coded babes
this is not Reid’s best i will not lie but love that man’s had his own version of a mojo dojo casa house in the 1800s! we gotta normalize men being crazy
say it with me people: multiple-paged sex scenes do NOT equal chemistry! with a book about an only fans turned nanny x chef romance you’d think there’d be spice but damn there was NO flavor!
