Resilient. That's the first word that comes to mind when I think of Bri Jackson. Her story is a hopeful one, a relatable one, no matter how different your own life circumstances may be. Angie Thomas makes sure of that.

People take for granted how different lyric writing and prose writing are, but Angie Thomas tackles both with incredible prowess, weaving the lyrics through the story and Bri's inner-monologue masterfully.

Bahni Turpin narrates so emotively, it's hard not to get drawn in to Bri's world.
