One of the most moving graphic novels I’ve read in a while, Flamer is one to out in every school library and classroom. It’s a beautiful depiction of adolescence in the 90s (though I’d argue this is a timeless tale), bullying, acceptance, and summertime. I loved every panel.

Wow wow wow THIS BOOK. I have so much to say. I was lucky enough to read this during a particularly stormy visit to Glacier National Park and Waterton National Park and that was the correct choice! It doesn’t hurt that I also read this in midst of Love Island season. The vibes: immaculate. And that doesn’t even say anything about the writing! So voicey! So cunningly clever! Just so much FUN. Ladies, take this on your next camping trip. You won’t regret it.
