Amazing illustrations and interesting facts, but the writing left a bit to be desired as the rhyme scheme just felt clunky and distracted from the content.

A charming classic about an old woman and her barnyard companions. May we all be so lucky to live in a mind like Hans Fischer’s, even just for 40 pages!

Well, she’s done it again. Every Kimmerer book is a must-read. And this little gem is no different.

I underlined so many passages in this book. I’ll be thinking about it for years. Beautifully written and expertly plotted.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 57%.
Really loved listening to it and the characters, but this was a Libby loan and I ran out of time. Might return later as I love Novik’s writing, but I’m not a military fiction person, so maybe not. No bad notes, though! Just not my thing.

I’m a sucker for human-animal friendships and quirky girls who play in the mud, and this one delivered on all counts! Perfect for fans of Hilda.
