Dream a Little Dream of Me by Akira Varma

Did not finish book. Stopped at 43%.
I didn't connect to the prose, it felt overly floral and too similarly too simple. It made connecting with the characters really difficult. Ultimately, this book isn't for me, but I know there are readers out there who will love this writing style.

This is the upcoming release in Katee Roberts Dark Olympus series. I keep holding out hope that the series will begin to move in a more plot centric fashion, but to this point, I am really disappointed in the arc that the series is taking.

This is Ariadne and the Minotaur, retold through the lens of the setting established by the previous editions in this series and I was really hoping for something more. I felt like we spent so much time focused on the relationship between the two MC's when - at this point in the series, with the threat of Circe, the issue with the boundary wall and the tension rising between Minos and the Thirteen, I was expecting a more narrative driven story.

Don't get me wrong, the spice was top notch, Katee Robert understands sexual tension on a whole other level, but I just feel like we've leaned too far into the sex and away from what made Dark Olympus an interesting re-telling for me.

It was an alright read, the plot thickens with the return of Hermes and the downfall of Icarus (who is teased to be next in the series?!) and so while I enjoyed those pieces, the overall perception of this one just didn't hit the way it the others have for me.

Fingers crossed for the next book!

A incredible sequel. I was immediately drawn into STARSIGHT after the twisty cliffhanger of SKYWARD and found myself hanging onto the edge of my seat for this one.

Spensa is sent on a secret spy mission to the hub of the Superiority to collect information on their ability to use hyperdrives.

What follows is a fantastic journey of someone challenging long held beliefs, learning empathy and understanding and compassion and more.

M-Bot remains my favourite character and I love how seamlessly Sanderson managed to integrate such a comedic personality into the story.

Definitely not a book suffering from Sequel Syndrome.

While Risda III isn't my favourite of the Rubyverse planets, I've enjoyed keeping up with the aliens and humans and their strange relationships.

This was a fun, light read and honestlyz who doesn't love a Prince getting a good slice of humble pie?
