'But it doesn't matter. For now, these steps are enough. These first few precious steps into darkness. Into the unknown. Into freedom.'

An ember in the ashes was a totally different, unique and beautiful book that captivated the readers and forced them to think nothing else other than that. I love the way everything falls out and the fact that it doesn't follow the natural trend of books.

To begin with, we got to know about a girl who fully believed that despite her mother being the lioness and her father the most courageous man ever, she had nothing of them in herself. She believed that she was neither brave nor courageous, instead she was a coward who didn't help her brother in the time of need. She didn't believe in herself and that's what makes this book more engaging. How the story unfolds itself, how this girl finally realises the strength in herself and the fact that she is ready to do anything that will make her brother live.

The the story comes to a boy who is a martial and who was abandoned by his mother the moment in stepped into the world. He had a strange enthusiasm, fire and smoothness in himself which made him seem more and more realistic. He doesn't want to become like his mother, full of savage and ruthless; he does not wish to serve the empire, to kill the scholars. He doesn't want to kill anyone who isn't guilty, he does not want to get engaged into the lifelessness of every mask present. Instead he wants freedom, freedom from tyranny, freedom from a life where nothing except guilt, savage, lifelessness and destruction exists. He slowly comes to believe that he just like every other mask, willing to kill tons and tons of people. But in the end he discovers that there is more to his life and his life is set for a good cause.

Not only these two characters keep me engaged in the story. All the other characters, the story of their life, the thoughts and intentions they have and the mysteries they have in their life. Every other character compels the readers to think to race their mind behind them thinking is it exactly the way it is? And lastly I like how mysterious the love story was in this book. I loved the true friendship between the best of friends, the fact that they never left each others side.

This book makes you endure all the moments because of the fire, courage, love, kindness, braveness and purpose that is embedded in each page, each paragraph, each line and each word. It has portrayed itself in such a way that I cannot even leave the book after completing it! I love it sooooooooo much ❤ and I am so thankful to the writer who gave her readers such a lovely story to live through!!

I recommend 'An ember in the ashes' to every single person out there who is looking for mystery, adventure, romance, terror, supernatural powers and beings!!!!! 😍😍

'Four they are, and four traits we seek:
Courage to face their darkest fears
Cunning to outwit their foes
Strength of arms and mind and heart
Loyalty to break the soul.'

Oh My God!!!

The last two books of the selection series are 😱😱. We have experienced only shocks after shocks while travelling along with the words. I cannot describe my expectations from this books and neither can I say whether they were met or not.. I can only say that I'll miss the selection series a lot for it was a really great adventure!

I feel that 'The Heir' and 'The Crown' were actually an epilogue of the selection series and I am looking forward to read more such books written by Keira Cass! 😍❤

This series is more than amazing, it is magical, haven for the readers and it finds exactly the right nerve in your heart to squeeze it till you feel the pain like you yourself are seeing everything that is happening.

I am extremely in love with the people and the plot and trust me it's the first time I am not freaking hating the lead character but instead I really really like her! Like I can find words to describe the pleasure I felt while reading the series. I am really looking forward to read more in this series (although it depends upon Rachel Hawkins 😄). I recommend this book with my full heart to anyone who actually wants to experience a sudden rush of adrenaline. Because this book will give you goosebumps and whatnot. You will be left screaming, yelling and thinking about it in your spare time (including while you are sleeping). I mean this series is extremely contagious!!!!! 😍

"Okay, fine. But just so you know, following me into the hell means you're all definitely the sidekicks."
"So if you can heal with your touch, why are working here as like, Hagrid, or whatever?"
"No. Don't distract me with your sexy talk."
"This thing with us is the only real thing I've had in a long time. You are the only real thing and I am done pretending I don't want you."
"Please don't joke and bleed at the same time."

And the best one:

"Jackass, Jackass on the wall, where's the info on Hex Hall?"

The Browning Version was a really very interesting play. I caught hold of this play because a part of it was in our course and after reading that part I wasn't quite satisfied. I mean I didn't understand the purpose of writing it and when I got to know it was somewhat based on Agamemnon.. My curiosity only grew. So I was searching for this book for a few days and only yesterday was my pleasure to have it.

I must assure all the readers that this play may seem short in reading but it holds immense meaning behind it. Not only meaning but also different sentiments, needs and thoughts that a person encounters in his life. I like the character of Andrew and Frank a lot.

I liked Andrew because there was a very meaningful side to him, the fact that his heart was already broken and still people made an attempt to cure it using mere medicines, the fact that how all students and teachers misinterpreted him - his thoughts, his actions, his feelings, how he was always suspected of being a human without soul and how he didn't appreciate people liking him. And despite of all the allegations, he never complained, he never showed his inner feelings to anyone, he was very careful to not break in front of anyone and this explains why he didn't like being liked because he thought no one was capable to love him. He accepted all the criticism, all the blames, all the hatred and ultimately this converted into a heart disease which was much severe than what people saw.

I won't say I really liked frank but it was more like I quite appreciated his character in the end. His character, I felt, was quite a confused one. I mean when he was talking with Taplow about Crocker Harris, it seemed that he was rather a scornful man - a man who was hooking up with his wife and was not even ashamed of it. But as the story continues, we get to see that he wasn't shamefully making fun of Crocker Harris, rather he wanted to know what he was like. We get this impression even when he talks to Millie. From the beginning he was unsure of their affair but he didn't make an attempt to end it before or rather he did but it was overlooked by Millie. But in the end he realises that what he did and would continue to do was inhuman especially when he got to know that Millie had from the starting told Harris that they were in a relationship. In the end, Frank tries to persuade Andrew to leave Millie but fails and so he tried to make Harris realize that there's more to him that he is not realising.

After all what aroused my interest in this play was the fact that though in the the starting Andrew was portrayed to be a man without soul, in the end we get to know that he was very much a human with soul and despite being disliked and losing interest in life, he was able to find his life back and attempted to start it from a scratch. Second was the fact that Frank was portrayed to be one that eventually everyone should hate but it instead turned out to be the one that I 'frankly' liked.

So yeah 'The Browning Version' is worth reading as it will compel you to think a loooottttttt and along with that, it will introduce you to a new perspective to see various aspects of life! I really really loved it 😍😍. No doubt that everything that I wrote doesn't not summarise what all is there in this short play - more than you would have believed. It respects friendship, a student - teacher relationship, trust, heartbreak, deceit and eccentricity for the characters portrayed in this play were no less than a mystery for all readers.

Amazing and classy!! I am seriously looking forward to know what happens to our brannick crew.. And also Dex and Izzy 😉.
