One Week 'Til Christmas by Belinda Missen

Oh... It was very lovely indeed. What's fun without a little festive romance?
Although, just like every single romance novel that I have read so far, there was this tension between the characters at the end. Surprisingly, I was anticipating for the most! I mean common, you know everything is going perfectly right, lovely and beautiful with amazing descriptions and a lovely setting and whose to think that there could possibly be any error? But I knew there would be. There's always is.
As I said, the setting was lovely. I could actually picture it all in my head and be like, 'I wanna go there, I wanna go there' on and on. I pretty much liked the characters as well. It was all pretty standard but at the same time familiar which made it enticing.
To be honest, it took me ages to get through it. Not because it wasn't interesting but you know, things get in way. But still I have read more than half of the book in almost a go and I cannot say that I didn't enjoy it.

4 Stars!!
This book had me confused, overwhelmed and hooked till the end.
Fran and Ollie meet for the first time during an interview, applying for the same job. And, it was a surprise for them when they got to know that they had both been recruited in Viral Hive. And with time they became best friends and work spouses from feeling unsure around each other. Truly, this seemed like a roller coaster ride.
From the start I had figured that the writing style was something I wasn't accustomed to. Not any major changes, but certain things here and there. And of course I had read the blurb and remembered it, so I was very excited to see where things were going. For sometime, I felt that it was stretching. Nothing major happened (and by that I mean the blurb) and I was on my toes. And then the moment arrived and I was utterly invested. Which actually made me realize that those first few pages were important for the story to have a mature base.
The characters were pretty amazing too. I mean apart from obvious dickheads, they were truly amazing. Fran's character, in a small summation, can be described as someone who's hard from inside but soft from inside. Ollie, on the other hand, was hard to pin down for me. He seemed someone who was clear about what he wanted but he made some crap decisions. And Fran and Ollie together? Obviously they were meant to be together from the beginning but, man, it was amazing and strenuous to watch them finally realize that.
The ending made me really emotional. And to be honest, although the book felt really long, at the end it was just worth it.

As far as my experience goes for prequels, this one was a really entertaining and beautiful one. It describes how deep the relation between Lani and Jay is. Not only that, but it actually raises a question for the fact that there might be some other intelligent species other than humans which believe that we don't exist (well, discovering something like that would be really exciting if nothing else). I really liked the whole concept on which the storyline is based and I'm eager to read the first book in the series!

Where should I begin? At the part were it is obvious that I liked this book a lot? Like a lot a lot?
I had absolutely no idea what to except from this book but gradually I knew it's going to be one of those books which leave you all tingly inside. Though there's isn't too much that happens but the simplicity of this book is something that I loved. It's totally adorable and the title does make sense at the end of the book. Emma and Luke are really totally together. It does not even feel like that the author is trying to build a relationship between them. It's kinda obvious and the one thought that keep repeating itself was why were they taking so long to work on it. But all in all it was super sweet and good to read.

Beautiful. The narration made it really appealing to read. The best thing that I liked about this book was how 'acceptance' of oneself and that of others was included in it very meaningfully. Along with that the fact that it so nicely expressed how money cannot buy everything to satisfy one's needs and make oneself happy for the rest of the life. Also, the plot was not exaggerated which made it even more interesting. And it had the perfect fairy tale ending one could think of. Be prepared to be all cheesed up.
The Girl of All My Memes by C.S. Johnson

I won't be able to tire myself by giving it infinite stars!!
I absolutely loved it! And the thing which made me even more excited to read it was the way it was narrated. It's something else entirely when every thought, every inch of the character is described to you. The narration made me hate the main character in the first pages but in the end made me love him a lot. Through the pages I was able to analyze the different characters, the setting, the plot etc. But the one thing I loved the most was analyzing Tommy. His nature, his feelings, his thoughts were dissected to the very inch where I thought I knew the character personally. I couldn't help but think that it has happened somewhere or this story was a real incident which was being narrated for the readers. The narration and the reality of the characters had so powerful.
I connected to the topics that 'The Girl Of All My Memes' discussed so significantly. The issues of cyber bullying, especially now with the various memes, is a subject that needs to be paid more attention. Being in school, I have seen this going around quite a bit and despite knowing the consequences, many of my peers are unable realize the intensity of the situation. And this is not the only topic that hit me.
The feelings of an individual while presenting oneself in society is something that this novel addressed prominently. Both Tommy and Kara were trying to present themselves in a manner that others will appreciate irrespective of the fact whether it is something that they really want or not. Though Kara did have an insight of what she actually want, Tommy did not have any clue. The only thing that he was sure of was time gain his parents affection and teachers attention by proving himself to be better than his brother. This is something which many people face and it is important to realize that one doesn't need to do things only to please others. This again was something really touchy and made me reflect and ponder over things that I usually dismissed in wake of the fact that I too need to prove myself to my teachers.
I was also very moved to see the connection and the love between Kara and her family. It was just something so sensitive and so amazing to read. The feeling at the end when her mom is shown full of joy with seeing Kara and Tommy together was just magnificent. I cannot describe the feeling that went through me except for the fact that I was close to tears. It was good to read how Kara dealt with her mother's illness and how she dealt with her own depression. It worked in a way of giving immense strength to the readers, of them knowing that although it is very hard to deal with situations which are not in your hand, there is always a way through which you can deal with it and make the best out if it.
I even liked the idea of symposium, it gave me a lot of ideas to work on my project and how to make the best out of it :))
The one other thing I loved in this novel was how Tommy was recounting his moments with Kara. The details of it and the way he described not only the situations but Kara as well:
'Her father was the one who hung the shining moon against the bleak and endless night. He was every hero she used to picture fighting off dragons and befriending fairies.' - I absolutely adored this description 😍
And.....
'I saw the depth of kindness in her eyes, the olive resilience that had looked upon the world of suffering and still remained determined to shine light into the resulting darkness. My heart ached for her inner beauty, as I realized how much of it I had missed, being so concerned with her outer beauty.' - It was interesting to see how Tommy finally realized that he was wrong about how he felt about Kara. From the beginning one could see his attention towards her but it was overshadowed by his need to prove himself. Or out ranking her to finally be done with his brother.
I cannot stop writing about this novel so all in all... I looooovvveeddd it! And I cannot wait to read more of Ms. Johnson's novels because I have developed an undeniable and intense liking towards the stories that she writes (especially the way she narrates them 😍😍😍)!!
