let's go freaky village full of weirdos!!! a lot of people, when writing or reading folk horror, seem to forget that there's nearly always a degree of eroticism (and, indeed, voyeuristic gazing) to the genre which i think is kind of a shame. at least here it's handled better than the extremely obvious symbolism and foreshadowing was
