Caraval is one of those books that sucks you in with the writing and ultimately leaves you with a sense of fulfillment- though you are unsure why.
the writing was great and the story leaves you confused yet wanting to find out more.

this was fantastic!! I love the mythical/ paranormal feel of the book and the main character was so kickass. Absolutely picking up the sequel.

this is an ongoing online serial manuha that is cute, fluffy and leaves you laughing and enjoying life- it focuses on the developing relationship between two girls both who are funny and enjoyable. the secondary characters are also enjoyable.
The format is simplistic four-five panel format that makes it quick and easy fly through the scanlations online.

Saving Montgomery Sole by Mariko Tamaki

The Covers Stunning!
When starting the novel I felt it start off really strong with an interesting setup and characters but I found myself finding the middle of the book really cluttered and a lot of plot points that are introduced fall by the wayside.
I felt that if the book was longer or focused on two storylines that tied together it would feel so cluttered and jumbled up.
Mongomery was an interesting teenage protagonist- but she read more like a 12-year-old some points with her need to bottle things up or spend the majority of her life in her room or complaining and or insulting her sister/mothers. Add to that at times she was pretty judgemental and made assumptions about a singular person based on a set of circumstances.
the last 35% of the book is where things actually got interesting as The MC finally confronts her issues and let everything out and makes progress.
the side characters I enjoyed more than the MC as even though there were flatly developed the were unique enough to add spice to the novel otherwise jumbled scenery.

No Sex in the City by Randa Abdel-Fattah

Randa needs to write all the new adult contemporary novels; please, I need more of this atmosphere and lovable characters.
Summary of this book is: 28-year-old Esma traverses through handling a dim-witted overbearing boss, having to help her father with a debt all while life takes a turn after disasters searching for MR Right.
I've known to seldom enjoy contemporary novels. those are few and far between but NSITC gave me a jumpstart. I loved the wit and vibes the book gave out.
+ Best written female friendships I've seen from a new adult novel. I loved the tight knitness of the group its self.
+ Ayden has my heart now. loved him as a romantic interest for Esma.
+ No sugar coating anything and no shying away from difficult subjects.
- though at times the pace meandered a bit and a few plot points went on forever

The Book Club by Alan Baxter

Actual Rating: 4.75
There is an entire reason that I created a shelf called unsurely satisfied. and that reason is Alan Baxter's writing,
Even within the short length of the book, i felt the emotional connection between Jason and his wife and family. and while at times the cops felt like those depicted on SVU I admired the clear emotional frustration and turmoil.
All in all, I found the Book Club as a perfect quick read that engaged my suspenseful side.

The Combat Baker and Automaton Waitress, Vol. 1 by SOW
3.0
Actual Rating: 3.4/5
Combat Baker and Automaton Waitress had a bare-bones plot- nothing overly impressive neither completely boring. but as one who read and watched Light Novels and Light Novel Adaptions, it just felt that I've read this story before. A person who is an ex-soldier who wants a peaceful life is intertwined with hijinks.
That being said- I really enjoyed the straightforwardness of the plot. There was no lingering on a scene too long and the dialogue was to the point.
the characters, for the most part, were enjoyable. I loved Jud, the ex-soldier turned baker and the nun and two child characters. the only character I didn't enjoy was the waitress. not because she was the part android- it was because she felt flat; relying on an overly used jealously stereotype.
I enjoyed this first Volume and will read the next one- I would recommend this to people so want a simple story to consume and enjoy.

Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff
5.0
walk with me gentle friends,
as I review the tome upon which Jay has blessed us with
Godsgrave is the sequel to Nevernight a book in which you could literally describe it as #stabstabstab.. there were high expectations placed upon the sequel and they were utterly destroyed, somewhat akin to a gladiator destroying his enemy when he is the underdog.
Jay delivered a tome of perfection from the deceit and betrayal to the steaminess. oh, how I have missed this world.
Everything was perfection and I'm still reeling.

This series is getting better and better, I loved the backstory between my children Nic and Worrick, precious babes. Decent amount of action to balance out the backstory and I hated both Nic and Worricks fathers.
